The Spectacular Fantastic is a pop leaning rock band from the outskirts of Cincinnati. The duo, featuring multi-instrumentalists’ Mike Detmer and Jonathan Williams, return with their new EP Consume. Co-released with Cincinnati’s Ionik Recordings, the current EP will also be complimented by a free online only ‘Reward’ EP. Having made some of their back catalog available for free downloads, the band believes that allowing the listener to decide what to pay for music is the wave of the future for independent artists. Rhode Island based musicians each contributed a song to raise money for the Providence Animal Rescue League. Two cds with 31 bands, almost two hours of music. Mastered by Scott Rancourt from Brickhaus Studios in Newport, RI. Jackets were hand-screened in the 75orLess house with exclusive design by Ryan Jackson.
The Providence Animal Rescue League is a private organization serving Providence and the state of Rhode Island. The League’s mission is to provide for the rescue and relief of suffering of homeless animals and perform charitable or benevolent acts for the welfare of animals. The League has been dedicated to the care and welfare of animals and humane education for more than 90 years.

Pixelated One & Zeros is the Staggering Statistics second release. The Staggering Statistics began as a three-piece rock band from Cincinnati, OH. Bassist John Curley was a founding member of the Afghan Whigs and owns Cincinnati’s Ultrasuede recording studio. Austin Brown is a prolific songwriter and musician who played in dozens of bands from Houston to Seattle before arriving in Cincinnati and joining dozens more, many at the same time. Joe and Austin had worked together at Kaldi’s on Main in the late 1990’s. During that time, they composed and recorded music in Joe’s downtown apartment.
The band were 2005’s Best New Artist at the recent CEA (Cincinnati’s Entertainments Awards).
Frontman Austin Brown’s laconic voice and tales of the hard life hit even harder when paired with this Cincy trio’s bluesy, sinuous raucous, marked by a rhythm section that could anchor a battleship. The melodic shagginess of early Pavement often comes to mind, yet SS possess a genuinely dark undercurrent that’s entirely their own.
