Wm. Gorman has issued his sophomore album, “Wine Dark,” a mere 10 months after his debut “Plague Under The Portico.” Sounds like Jazzmasters and Rickenbackers through an active pedalboard along with EBow and a dollop of Mellotron. Musical touchstones remain the guitars of Marr and Buck, with a healthy influence from British and American indie and power-pop. Lyrical themes include Satan, conflict in Europe, anxiety, near death experiences, the ugliest American, the liars on the Supreme Court, and youth. Then, an homage to Eno. Thanks for listening

Steve K Not the Grateful Dead
75OL-340 Steve K – Not the Grateful Dead EP

In early 2022 Steve K set out to make an album that sounded as little like the Grateful Dead as possible. Something totally opposite than their brand of loose grooves and kind stylings. He wrote about 14 songs, and all of them were pretty much diametric to the sound of the Dead. He started recording the songs, and after the first few were completed it was becoming pretty clear that this album wasn’t sounding anything like the Grateful Dead. There was no point recording the rest of the songs. Thus this 5 song EP was born.

Nora Gorman – backing vox on 2 & 4
Over a decade after the dissolution of Von Doom, Wm. Gorman returns with a debut LP that bubbled out of the isolation. With the jangle of Rickenbackers and Jazzmasters balanced by Mellotrons and E-Bows, the guitars lean heavily on the familiar inspiration of Marr, Buck, J. Spaceman, and Harrison while the songs discuss aging, isolation, global warming, alien abduction, and destroying Nazis. Thanks for listening.
