Recorded with Sean Lynch at Muzzle Recording Co. in Olneyville, the tongue-firmly-in-cheek titled “quiet/loud/repeat” packs ten songs and assorted weird noises into just over 36 minutes. Think of a room of drunken fools trying to mix Crazy Horse with Mogwai and you’d be pretty close to describing it. More pop and less aggressive than their previous two releases. For fans of Built to Spill, Silkworm, Neil Young, Slint etc.

Recorded with George Dussault at Galilee Studios, Pop Songs For Assholes mixes together a myriad of influences (Dinosaur Jr, Mogwai, Lightning Bolt, the MC5, Glenn Branca and everything in-between) to create a style that is both a contemplative reverb-drenched drone and ear-bleeding sonic terrorism.
