Finally, after ten long years, Jordan-Everett Associates release the much anticipated follow up to their eponymous debut. This one is a ten song offering called ” The Birdsongs and the Rain”
This recording follows a lengthy period that brought drought, plague, floods, death, lost love, betrayal, and yes, insanity. All that and more is covered here, through emotional declaration, sonic exploration, heart-worn concern, and longing questions.
Jordan/Everett, or Kraig and Paul, respectively, lead us on a moody, if slightly schizophrenic chase, with their Associates: Dan Ulmshneider (drums), Kevin Zahm (bass), and Damian Puerini (guitar), adding adeptly to the creative trip.
These are timeless, highly original songs that cover a myriad of colors in style and feeling. Sometimes folksy, sometimes funky, sometimes rocking, sometimes sad.
If you’re up for a well-mapped, thought provoking journey, and don’t mind getting your heartstrings tugged at along the way, this one’s for you.
